So, is anyone reading my blog? I've only gotten like 5 comments lol, just making sure people are actually reading it!

Anyways, I'll just tell you about the past two days. Well yesterday started out with my daily routine. It's weird because the past 3 months in Michigan I haven't had class and I woke up at noon basically, but I'm here and I am wide awake at 6:30 am. I don't know if that's because my internal clock is still messed up from the flight, or if I'm excited to start my day, or if I'm excited to talk to everyone back at home...who knows. So, I got up and grabbed a coffee from 7/11, 7/11's are EVERYWHERE here, it's crazy that they can all get business. Went back to the dorm and Tuukka and I got ready for our registration.

We have quite the walk to campus, it's a very nice walk but it is kind of long. We probably walk 15 minutes to the MRT station, than we take a 10 minute MRT ride and get off at Guting station and walk another 10 or so minutes to the campus. So far I like the walk.

We get to the campus and being registering but we both forgot to bring our passports so we weren't able to do the registration that day, so we walked around the main campus and checked everything out. Pretty awesome campus.

I signed up for the intensive mandarin training which is 3 hours a day of class and than 4 hours of study outside of class daily. It's going to be a ton of work, but I am here to learn Chinese as much as possible  so might as well do it!

Than at night Tuukka, his girlfriend Emilia, her friend Vicky and I went to a mall that is connected to the MRT. The girls saw a bunch of sales and got a bunch of clothes for hardly anything. It's a lot different guys, it's hard to find anything for guys. We grabbed an ice cream cone from burger king for desert. We didn't stay out too late that night.

This morning, woke up early again but Tuukka and I had to get to the main campus by 8:30 am to register, so we grabbed our coffees on the way and headed out for the routine walk. By the way, today the sun was out and it was beautiful 70 degrees :), perfect weather! We got all registered nice and smoothly and than we headed to the gym and got ourselves a membership to the gym, so that will be nice to be able to weightlift while I am here. Tuukka and I ate at a delicious restaurant that specialized in grilled cheese so that was a very nice lunch. I came back to the dorm and just chilled for awhile. Than my roommate Alex asked if I wanted to go along with him and his girlfriend Nikki who wanted to get a tattoo! I went with them and she got a tat and we just hung around near the Taipei 101 building. Than we stopped at Mcdonalds for some fries on the way back home. You can only get so much Taiwanese food, it gets old fast. So it's nice to have other restaurants around to keep me sane!

My roommates are awesome. So happy to have a great group of guys to live with. Without them, this trip would be quite stressful and not fun. Glad to have them.

Have a good day everyone!

Kyle

  1. I'm still reading! You have eaten a lot of American food so far, haha.

It's okay though. You should REALLY try their KFC at the ximending yeshi!

ALSO, you can get a lot of guy's clothes at the outlet night market. I forgot what it's called, you can ask Kathy about it. I just remember you have to go all the way on the brown line to get there. That night market, is WAY cheaper than any night market that you will ever go to. And it has a looottt of guy clothes. And you can bargain the living crap out of that place! But, once June-August hits, you can't because that's when a lot of tourist comes and so they do not accept the bargaining as much.

My average of pricing down the price over at that night market is 150-200NT.

    =D.
Looking at your pictures make me miss Taiwan so much! haha. Oh, are the tattoo parlor over there like? Does it seem legit/sanitary?

  2. OH! while I am at it. At the ximending yeshi, one of the food stand, look for a man (not Chinese) that has a stand that is holding a big bulk of meet. I believe it's chicken.

If you find it, TRY IT! It's a delicious sandwich.
